The game matched Edgewater's junior guard Darius Washington, who scored 21, and the highest-rated player in the class, Sebastian Telfair, of Lincoln, who scored 28 and just missed a game-tying 3-pointer with 2.4 seconds left to play. The win gave Edgewater a split versus New York City teams for the week after losing to Briarwood, Archbishop Molloy, 81-70, at the Basketball Hall of Fame High School Invitational in Springfield, Mass. . . . Covington, Ga., Newton County coach Ronald Bradley earned coaching victory No. 900 in a 54-32 win over Newnan, Heritage. Bradley also has 353 victories as a girls coach, giving him 1,253 combined wins -- one shy of a state record . . . The road show that has become superstar LeBron James and the top-ranked Akron, Ohio, St. Vincent-St. Mary basketball team made a stop at the Greensboro, N.C., Coliseum on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, where 16,220 fans watched James score 32 points and the Irish rout regionally ranked Winston-Salem, Reynolds, 86-56.
