FEATS OF THE WEEK: Keeping to form, the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, Fla., is serving as an early season proving ground for many nationally and regionally ranked teams. Seven of the 14 teams in the field are listed in this week's Prep Poll, including New York, Rice, which moves to No. 3 from No. 17 after upsetting then-top-ranked Santa Ana, Calif., Mater Dei, 88-76, in the semifinals of the tournament. The Raiders will face this week's No. 1, Elizabeth, N.J., St. Patrick, in the tourney final on Monday. The Celtics defeated regionally ranked Barrington, R.I., St. Andrews and No. 11 Bronx, N.Y., St. Raymond to advance . . . Los Angeles, Fairfax enters the Poll at No. 14 after winning the Iolani Classic in Honolulu for the second consecutive year. The Lions beat regionally ranked Seattle, Franklin, 63-56, in the championship game after turning back No. 18 Rockville, Md., Montrose Christian and regionally ranked host Iolani earlier in the competition . . . Eight bracket champions were crowned in Las Vegas at the Holiday Prep Classic. Winners included No. 10 Mouth of Wilson, Va., Oak Hill and No. 22 Los Angeles, Westchester.
