FEATS OF THE WEEK: With a field that boasted nine nationally or regionally ranked teams, the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, Fla., had a major impact on this week's Prep Poll. No team received a bigger boost than tournament champion Niagara Falls, N.Y. The Wolverines jumped from No. 7 in the Northeast Region to No. 5 in the nation after defeating No. 8 West Palm Beach, Fla., Palm Beach Lakes, 52-51, in the tourney final. Senior guard Johnny Flynn nailed a 3-pointer with 18 seconds to play to clinch the victory. Niagara Falls also recorded wins over No. 9 Jacksonville, Fla., Arlington Country Day and previously Top 10-ranked Jacksonville, Raines en route to the tourney title . . . New York Catholic High School Athletic Association rivals traveled five time zones and nearly 5,000 miles to the West to battle it out in the finals of the Iolani Classic in Honolulu. Fifteenth-ranked New York, Rice defeated regionally ranked Brooklyn, Xaverian, 62-42, for its second Iolani title in as many trips. Rice senior guard Tasco Brown led all scorers with 24.
