The National Prep Basketball Poll is compiled by national high school
sports experts Jamie DeMoney and Jeremy Plowman and a panel of sportswriters. The preseason national Top 25 and regional Top 10's follow with last season's won-loss records:
- Mouth of Wilson, Va., Oak Hill (17-0), more McDonald's All-Americans than any other school
- Los Angeles, Westchester (10-0), titlist at City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, Fla.
- Aurora, Ill., West (9-0), led by Seton Hall recruit PG Justin Cerasoli
- New York, Rice (6-0), advanced to finals of STOP-DWI Classic in Binghamton, N.Y.
- Milwaukee, Rufus King (5-0), thumped No. 16 Bishop O'Connell in quarterfinals of Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
- Mount Vernon, N.Y. (6-1), picked up two wins at Slam Dunk to the Beach tourney in Lewes, Del.

- Los Angeles, Fairfax (7-1), advanced to semifinals at Academy National Invitational in Houston
- Santa Ana, Calif., Mater Dei (11-1), coach Gary McKnight is 667-60 at school
- Cedar Hill, Texas (16-0), next up is No. 21 Orlando Edgewater at Beach Ball Classic
- Philadelphia, Cardinal Dougherty (4-1), wins over Top 25 teams in last two weeks
- Maysville, Ky., Mason County (9-0), led by do-it-all G Chris Lofton
- Bronx, N.Y., St. Raymond (5-1), F Gavin Grant headed to N.C. State
- Jersey City, N.J., St Anthony (3-0), advanced to semifinals of Torrey Pines Holiday Prep Classic in San Diego
- Arlington, Va., Bishop O'Connell (7-1), next up is No. 14 St. Raymond at Beach Ball Classic

FEATS OF THE WEEK: Los Angeles, Westchester moved into the No. 2 spot nationally after winning gold at the City of Palm Classic in Fort Myers, Fla. The Comets improved its all-time City of Palms record to 14-0 and became the first team to win three Classic titles by defeating Baton Rouge, La., LSU Lab, 70-58, in this year's final . . . Memphis, Tenn., White Station vaulted from No. 14 to No. 7 with its early round performance at the Arby's Classic in Bristol, Tenn. The Spartans hit on a dazzling 16-of-23 three-pointers en route to a 105-55 drubbing of Elizabethtown, Tenn. Guard Courtney Pigram led the way with 34 points in the win . . . No. 4 New York, Rice scored a tournament-record 95 points in drubbing host Binghamton, N.Y., in the semifinals of the STOP-DWI Holiday Classic. More than 2,500 fans at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena watched the Raiders get the 95-41 win and advance to the tournament final against Philadelphia, Gratz . . . Athens, Ala., junior forward Richard Hendrix scored 27 points and grabbed 20 rebounds in a 70-59 win over Huntsville, Lee at the Huntsville Times Classic.
