FEATS OF THE WEEK: Mouth of Wilson, Va., Oak Hill placed an exclamation point next to its No. 1 ranking by steamrolling an outstanding field at the Iolani Prep Classic in Honolulu. The Warriors earned surprisingly easy wins over No. 6 Mount Vernon, N.Y., 73-55, seventh-ranked Los Angeles, Fairfax, 78-55, and then-regionally ranked Orlando, Fla., Dr. Phillips, 78-51. Oak Hill has defeated six nationally or regionally ranked teams already this season. Coach Steve Smith's squad features six seniors who are Division I recruits, led by 6-foot-8 Indiana recruit Josh Smith, Louisville-bound power forward Brian Johnson and Syracuse verbal commitment forward Dayshawn Wright . . . JamesOn Curry of Mebane, Eastern Alamance broke the North Carolina career scoring record during a 41-point outburst in his team's 84-76 win over Andrews. Curry, who has verbally committed to play at North Carolina, has 2,779 career points and also holds state records for career 20-point games and 3-pointers . . . Tyree Evans scored 51 points to lead regionally ranked Richmond, Va., George Wythe to an 81-78 win over state-ranked Chesterfield, L.C. Bird. Evans hit on seven consecutive 3-pointers as part of a 31-point first half.
