"Florida Treasure Coast Top Recruit Prospects" Martin County Hall of Fame Classic Day OneGame 1Miramar 58, Jupiter 39 Top scorers: Roderick Wilmont (MHS) 27 points Game notes: Wilmont is currently being heavilly recruited by the University of Indiana. Game 2Tampa Jefferson 67, SLW Centennial 49 Top scorers: Tarence Kinsey (TJ) 25, Terrell Slater (SLWC) 16 pts. Game notes: Centennial continues to struggle defensively. The offensive scheme of outside jumpers continues to be the demise of Centennial's struggle to win game. Also, the lack of defense from Centennial is a threat to a winning season. Tampa Jefferson is currently ranked 6th in Class 4A. Game 3Plantation 69, South Fork 63 Top scorers: Eric Dickinson (SFHS) 29 points, Brown (PHS) 25 pts Game notes: Eric Dickinson continues to put up great effort and numbers, by far his best game of the season. Coach England's effort to move Ferrel Graham away from the point guard position solidifies the team better offensively. South Fork needs a third player to step up. Game 4Martin County 89, Okeechobee 61 Top scorers: Hurley Dunbar (MCHS) 24 points, Matt Mitchell (OHS) 15 points Game note: Okeechobee surprised Martin County wih a 14-13 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Martin County came out in the 3rd quarter and took control, largely due to the effort of Korey Mitchell and Richard Cleare. Cleare continues to put up consistent numbers, nearly a double-double (rebounds/points) every game. Mitchell's reliability on the offensive boards continues to pay off. Tournament notes The brackets seem a bit "out of whack". Martin County's bracket has a combined record of 9-30. Martin County's 7-3 record being the best. Plantation won their 1st game of the season, Okeechobee has 1 win, and South Fork continues to struggle with an 0-9 record. The other bracket, featuring 6th ranked Tampa Jefferson, has a more respectable combined record of 22-24. Tampa Jefferson is the only team with a winning record in their bracket. However, the rest of the teams have posted at least 3 wins a piece.
