South Fork's Brennen Grubbs had a double-double of 13 points and 15 rebounds as the Bulldogs lost their first district game to Jupiter by 5.
Lincoln Park Academy used the Treasure Coast Holiday Classic to build some momentum and carried it to a 10 point district win over Ft. Pierce Westwood.

Leemire Goldwire continues to be the go-to guy for W.T. Dwyer as they rolled over Ft. Pierce Central. Alfonso Towns had 16 points in the win.
The pre-season hype of Olympic Heights hit some reality as they joined the ranks of not being undefeated. Dionte Perry and Boynton Beach
edged Olympic Heights in overtime.

Palm Beach Lakes continues to get great play from sophomore Corey Claitt and junior Jarrett Brown as they remain undefeated with their
20 point district win over Wellington.
John Carroll saw the return of Matt Marcorelle not matter much as they lost a district game to Brandon McThay and American Heritage.
Ross Whittaker and Eber Wright combined for 33 points in the loss.
Vero Beach's Ray Cummings (19 points, 17 rebounds) was the man as the Indians handed Martin County their 5th loss of the season. The game was
marred by more turnovers than anyone cared to count. A poor offensive showing from Martin County (5 points in the 1st quarter, 18 points at halftime)
did not help the Tiger's effort. Vero Beach's Mario Smith's ability to turn the ball over with ease helped the score look better than it could have been. Martin County
did not have a single player in double figures.

Weekly Athlete Spotlight: Jamison Clark (Lincoln Park Academy) 23.0 PPG
Jamsion Clark was the "man" at this past week's Treasure Coast Holiday Classic. He had a 23 point game against Boynton Beach and 26 points against cross-town
rival Port St. Lucie enroute to leading his team to the South Championship. Clark has good size and displays a variety of moves and ability to get to the basket.
He has only a single drawback at the moment. He seems to lag on defense. He doesn't come across and box out looking for the rebound the way you
would want a 6'5" kid. He can go places but he will have to get more active defensively. But, I give him credit, he has lost a few pounds and elevated his game
since the summer. A solid player with college potential. |

Weekly Athlete Spotlight: Hilton Pitts (John I. Leonard) 22.6 PPG
The Kingdom of the Sun may have helped Hilton Pitts. He had a 31 point effort in a loss to Tabor Academy. He put up 27 points against Miami Senior.
He puts the ball on the floor well. He gets after you on defense. His three point shot is streaky. He was completely cold in the first half against Tabor.
But, he gets to the basket well. His only problem is seeing his teammates when he goes to the basket. Teammate Charlie Coley might have had a better game against Tabor if Hilton
would have looked a bit more often. All in all, Pitts showed that he can play. He has decent size standing at 6'3". His decision making is his
only drawback. |
