Game Notes :
South East Florida
South Miami stayed undefeated as they got by Southwest in overtime. Abdul Herrera had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Christian Soto and Miami Christian continued their ways as they beat Greater Miami Academy. Soto had a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds.
Killian beat Southridge and four players in double figures including Fetzer's 12 point, 10 reboun duoble-double.
Gerald Gillion had 16 points ad 12 assists as Northwestern beat Dr. Krop, 67-62.
American's Christopher McClendon had 23 points and 12 rebounds in their win over Goleman.
Homestead beat Coral Reef with the help of Kendrick's double-double of 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Cooper City beat Northeast behind Yablon's 15 point, 10 rebound double-double.
Cypress Bay stayed undefeated as they beat McArthur.
North Broward Prep left Coral Springs Charter in the dust. Sophomore Dexter Davidson had a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Central East Florida
Hilton Pitts and Charlie Coley kept John I. Leonard undefeated with an easy "w" over Pope John Paul. Lincoln Park literally
destroyed South Fork with a 32 point win. I will stick with my pre-season favorites here and be bold. This was not an upset. Lincoln Park
has a lot of basketball left to play. Their 3-3 record is very misleading. Jamison Clark, Andrae Franklin, and William Potts are what makes this
team click. More to come from these boys.
Sean Teufel had a double-double of 21 points and 16 rebounds in Jupiter Christian's cruise over Berean Christian.
Community Christian's Richard Ross had an outstanding game with a 26 point and 23 rebound game in their win over Summit Christian.
Martin County is back up to 0.500 after playing winless Sebastian River. Hopefully, this will help the Tiger's focus. Their "biggest" offense weapon
is 5'7" guard Aaron Simmons who is averaging 15.2 PPG. They got some company coming to their Annual Martin County Hall of Fame Classic in
Montverde Academy, a couple of Miami teams (Braddock/Miramar/Plantation), and cross-town rival South Fork. So, they better be ready!
North East Florida
Central Florida
Pine Castle is stilled undefeated as they blew out West Oaks by 46 points. Pine Castle player Lambert had a 20 point, 10 rebound double-double.
Heritage Prep increased their win percentage with a one point win over Heritage Christian. Heritage Christian's b had a 17 point, 11 rebound game.
Altamonte Christian got great games from a triple-double by Roberts (15 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 blocked shots) and a double-double from
Hamilton (15 points and 13 assists).

Game Notes :
South East Florida
Dennys Clemente kept Calusa Prep undefeated and set a school record 50 points in a single game. They flat whooped Westwood Christian by nearly Clemente's 50 points.
Clemente's 6 assists, 5 steals, and 5 rebounds added tro his complete game. Ismael Pabon finished the for Calusa Prep with a 13 point, 10 rebound double-double.
Miami Beach got by North Miami with some help from Delvecchio's 14 point, 10 rebound double-double. Archbishop Carroll handed St. Brendan their
first loss of the season behind John Lopez' 22 points and 12 rebounds as well as Ivan Del Rio and his 10 point, 9 steal, and 8 assist game.
Another embarassing game worth mentioning, how about Northwest Christian and their 62 opint win over Westlake Prep. Northwest Christian
had seven players in double figures with DeLuis Ramirez leading the way. Holy Cross' Adrian Mora had a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds
in their win over Brito Academy.
Central East Florida
I admire any coach that can stand and watch his team get beat by 80 points. I know I wouldn't like it very much. However, just
when do you call the dogs off? Lake Worth Christian trounces Boca Raton Prep, 92-12. The score is 52-8 at half time. Mercy, mercy!
Where is the running clock? I sure hope they used it on this game. Martin County plays a couple of sub 0.500 teams this week that
should help them get back to 0.500 themselves. Sebastian River and Okeechobee have a currently combined record of 2-10. Although, it is nice
to see them getting back on track with Addis Wilson and Aaron Simmons stepping offensively.
North East Florida
Central Florida
Lake Mary Prep blew out Crooms Academy as Marimon collected a double-double of 22 points and 10 assists.
Josh Brewer helped Atlantic to a two point win past Palatka with a 19 point and 14 rebound game.
Leesburg stay undefeated with a win over Brooksville Central behind McNish's 18 point, 11 rebound performance.
Tavares blew out South Lake behind a triple-double from Taylor (22 pts., 10 reb., 10 ast.) and Rocker's double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Commuinioty School's Smith had a double-double of 12 points and 20 rebounds in their win over Orlando Lutheran.
Lake Brantley beat Lyman behind Brantley's double-double of 19 points and 17 rebounds.
South West Florida
Yavney Neptune and Port Charlotte got behind Estero in the first quarter. But, the rest of the game belonged to Port Charlotte.
Lely got out of the gates with a quick 24-9 first quarter run and never looked back. Ryan Hornsby led Lely in scoring.
Richie Cruz (20.1 ppg) continues to provide Mariner with plenty of offense as they played catch up for most of the game against Riverdale.

Weekly Athlete Spotlight: Brennen Grubbs (South Fork) 10.6 PPG/12.1 REB
We should be talking about Jamison Clark, Shane Reynolds, or even Ferrel Graham. However, our athlete spotlight for the week goes to Grubbs.
He started the year slow and is getting back to last year's form. Grubbs is a sophomore and at 6'3" is active on both sides of the ball. His shooting
continues to improve. His off season habits will have to change as he looked a bit heavy. Good player with lots of basketball to come. |

What more can you say about this kid? He can flat play. He makes his teammates better and keeps playing tough "D". Who wouldn't want him on their team?
He has already signed to play at UNC-Charlotte for next year. He is one of the highest ranked point guards in the state. His shot is still a bit streaky
but it's only the beginning of the season. Keep on shooting Lee! |
