Round One Highlights
Senior guard Spiros Ferderigos didn't have his normal game, ony netting 11 points. However, Mason Conrad scored 19 points in the first half to
defeat Tarpon Springs, 70-44, in the first round of the inaugural Outback Steakhouse Invitational at Berkeley Prep.
Gateway downed Florida Christian in a good contest. Cardinal Mooney defeated Avon Park in overtime behind Andrew Doble's 21 point effort.
St. Petersburg High got by Land O'Lakes.
Round Two – Sat. Dec. 20, 2003
Game #5: Land O Lakes (68) vs Florida Christian (64)
Game #6: Avon Park (58) vs Tarpon Springs (47)
Game #7: St Pete High (61) vs Gateway (71)
Game #8: Cardinal Mooney (62) vs Berkeley (79)
Round Two Highlights
Senior guard Spiros Ferderigos got back on track as he scored 21 points to lead Berkeley Prep to a 79-62 victory against Sarasota Cardinal Mooney in one of the semifinal games.
Brandon Suarez and Hamilton Hunt contributed 14 points each. Cardinal Mooney got a game-high 23 points from Steve Young.
Gateway got past St. Petersburg with a ten point win. Keaton Grant scored 17 points for Gateway. Land O'Lakes defeated Florida Christian.
Danny Bernat (26 points, 10 rebounds) led Florida Christian in scoring. Avon Park got by Tarpon Springs.
Round Three – Monday Dec. 22, 2003
Game #9: Florida Christian (47) vs Tarpon Springs (61)
Game #10: Land O Lakes (43) vs Avon Park (54)
Game #11: St Pete High (77) vs Cardinal Mooney (64)
Game #12: Gateway (59) vs Berkeley (61)
Round Three Highlights
Berkeley Prep's Spiros Ferderigos earned the tournament MVP honor as Berkeley squeaked by Gateway to win the championship
game. Ferderigos sank two free-throws with 7.2 seconds remaining for the win. Gateway's Keaton Grant finished with 28 points, including six 3-pointers.
St. Pete High took the 3rd place trophy with their win over Cardinal Mooney. Land O'Lakes lost to Avon Park and Tarpon Springs took 7th with a win over
Florida Christian.
