| Former Martin County star Hurley Dunbar. |

Lakeland, Florida …….. An injury during an exhibition game will cost former Martin County star Hurley Dunbar his sophomore
year of play at Florida Southern College. Hurley suffered a torn ACL in an October exhibition game on a trip to Costa Rica. He will have season ending surgery this Friday.
Dunbar was quite the high school player averaging over 20 points per game over 4 years as a starter at
both South Fork and Martin County. He played with a passion that was fun to watch. He was a 3rd team Class 6A All State selection as well as
the Palm Beach Posts' 1st team All Area selection his senior year. His loss to Florida Southern is evident
as Coach Tony Longa remarked, “Obviously this makes a huge impact,” said Longa. “Hurley is our best all-around player, a guy that was
going to pick up the slack with the loss of Brooks. He’d worked hard over the summer and added some things to his game to make him a
better player.” Hurley is the only true freshman to start regularly for the Moccasins in the last 17 years.
He was supposed to redshirt last year. However, the coaching staff choice to activate him resulted in a good decision. Hurley
was selected as the Freshman of the Year in the Sunshine State Conference last year as well as being named as a Division II Bulletin
Freshman All-American.
